Our Story

AJ Antiquina took the long road to owning his own electrical business, working in other fields and for large firms like Honeywell and TYCO before opening AJ’s Electrical Services in 2018.

While working for the larger, multinational firms, he got to work on projects for NASA, the Miami Convention Center and several universities — to name a few.

“It created a mindset that most company owners don’t possess,” he says. “The negotiation table, deal closings, execution, working with OSHA standards, safe practices and so on.”

AJ brings that level of experience and detail to his own business in Eastern North Carolina.

“When people hire us to do the work, I don’t want it to be a pay-to-play scenario,” he says. “I want to not only develop a professional relationship, but also develop a situation where we enjoy seeing each other in public after we have completed the work. We want to provide a level of service that is unparalleled in the industry.”

One of the aspects of his business that inspires AJ is fire safety. 

“I have always been a big supporter of life safety,” he explains. “I take pride in knowing that the work I do protects family and property. When a parent sends their child off to college, which is often their first time away from home, I want there to be a level of comfort for them. I want them to know that the person that certified the Fire Life Safety system thought of and covered every aspect to ensure the utmost protection. That way, they can worry about the child or family member, and not the environment.”

When he’s not providing excellent customer service and expert electrical services, AJ likes to hunt, fish and perform community service. He lives in Goldsboro with his wife, Tara and his family.
